TRIP ITINERARY
Journey Through Cloud Forests and Enchanting Hiking Trails
Your guide will pick you up from your hotel in our company van between 05:30-06:00 am. We’ll then embark on a journey along winding Andean roads, passing through quaint hamlets and towns until we reach Ajanaco, the gateway to the jungle at 3,500 meters above sea level. As we descend through the serpentine roads into the cloud forest, we’ll be surrounded by lush vegetation, including orchids, heliconias, and ferns.
Keep an eye out for the vibrant wildlife that inhabits this region, such as the Andean cock-of-the-rock, umbrella bird, trogon, quetzal, or oropendolas. Finally, we’ll arrive at our lodge, where you can unwind and rejuvenate after an exhilarating day of exploration.
Meals included: Breakfast en route, lunch in the cloud forest, and dinner at the lodge.
Discover Atalaya: Exploring the Mystical Machuwasi Lagoon and Enthralling Night Hikes
Following breakfast, we’ll embark on a brief hike to spot an array of birds and monkeys in their natural habitat. Next, we’ll take an hour-long bus ride to the port of Atalaya, where we’ll board a boat for a 30-minute journey to our lodge. Along the way, you can choose to take a refreshing dip in the river or indulge in a rejuvenating mud bath.
After lunch, we’ll visit the captivating Machuwasi Lagoon and set sail on a raft, where we may encounter shanshos, monkeys, reptiles, dwarf caimans, capybaras, tapirs, and other fascinating creatures. Following dinner, we’ll set out on an exhilarating evening hike to further explore the region’s natural wonders. We’ll spend the night at our comfortable lodge, surrounded by the beauty of the Amazon.
Parrot Clay Lick, Enriching Hikes, Atalaya Exploration, and Journey Back to Cusco
As the sun rises, we’ll embark on a captivating journey to the parrot clay lick, where we’ll witness the magnificent spectacle of these vibrant birds feasting on the nutrient-rich wall. Following a scrumptious breakfast, we’ll make our way back to Atalaya by boat, before hopping on the van for our return trip to Cusco. Along the way, we’ll encounter enchanting sights such as hummingbirds, orchids, waterfalls, and potentially spot other bird species or even monkeys. Leaving the verdant jungle behind, we’ll traverse the awe-inspiring Andean peaks, culminating in our arrival in Cusco between 5:00 pm and 7:00 pm. Meals include breakfast at the lodge and lunch amidst the cloud forest.

- Optionally, you can pay the full tour amount upfront to avoid any future payment concerns.
- If you choose to pay only the deposit, the remaining balance is due 24 hours before the tour begins. You can pay in cash (soles or dollars) at the office in Cusco or by card (3.9% fee). You can also pay the balance online with any card (2.9% fee).

Passport Requirements: Ensure your passport is valid for at least 6 months beyond your planned entry date to Peru. If it’s set to expire within 6 months, renew it before traveling. If your passport expires within 6 months but you want to secure AMAZON TOUR – MANU CULTURAL ZONE 4D – 3N and Machu Picchu tickets, book the tour and update your passport details with us after renewal. Failure to do so may result in permit and ticket forfeiture.
Travel Insurance: We strongly recommend purchasing travel insurance to protect your investment. Obtain insurance before departing and consider working with a reputable agency for affordable coverage.
Deposit: The $180 deposit per person for the AMAZON TOUR – MANU CULTURAL ZONE 3D – 2N tour is non-refundable and non-transferable.
Remaining Balance: If you only pay the deposit, the balance is due 24 hours before the tour starts. Pay in cash (soles or dollars) at our office in Cusco or by card with a 3.9% fee. You can also pay online with any card and a 2.9% fee.
Student Discount: If your student card meets Peruvian government requirements, reserve the tour with a deposit and pay the remaining balance upon arrival in Cusco. The student discount will be applied at that time.

Our guide Javier was very knowledgable about the Inka sites and history and supported the group throughout the hike. Javier answered all of our questions, kept us laughing and even taught us a little Quechua along the way! The Chef and team of porters, led by Antonio, were incredible and kept us very well looked after! The meals were delicious and there was plenty of food (special shoutout to Cristobal who always made sure our tea was hot and our water was cold!). We would recommend this company (and Javier!) to anyone interested in doing the Inka trail!
