Waynapicchu Mountain

WAYNAPICCHU MOUNTAIN

Waynapicchu Mountain is the iconic peak seen in the background of the classic Machu Picchu photo. Today, visitors still have the opportunity to climb to its summit, where they can enjoy breathtaking panoramic views of the Inca citadel, the Urubamba River valley, and the surrounding mountains.

At the top, you’ll discover Inca archaeological remains, including terraces and temples, adding a rich historical element to the adventure. For many travelers, the hike to Waynapicchu is an unforgettable experience that greatly enhances their visit to Machu Picchu.

Climbing Waynapicchu also extends your time in the Machu Picchu area. While a standard visit is limited to 3 hours, adding the Waynapicchu hike gives you approximately 3 extra hours, as the round trip to the summit takes between 2.5 and 3 hours.

Don’t miss this once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to climb Waynapicchu. Make sure to book in advance, as spaces are limited and highly sought after.
