STUDENT PRICE
HOW TO ACCESS THE STUDENT PRICE FOR A TOUR TO MACHU PICCHU?
The Peruvian government offers discounts for students on entrance tickets to Machu Picchu. Consequently, in our tours to Machu Picchu, we provide a reduced rate for students. To qualify for this special rate, you must meet the following requirements:
- Student Age: You must be under 25 years old at the time of your visit to Machu Picchu. This age limit is aimed at benefiting undergraduate students.
- Material and Format of the Student Card: The card must be a physical plastic document, similar to a credit card, with all the required information printed on it. Cards made of other materials or with information added via stickers or not printed are not accepted.
- Required Information on the Card: The card must include the following printed information: details of the university, personal information of the student, the student’s photograph, and a validity date not exceeding one year from the date of your visit. For example, if you plan to visit in 2024, the card should not expire before 2025 and must be valid during the visit.
- Note on the ISIC Card: Although the International Student Identity Card (ISIC) is recognized in many countries, it is not accepted by the Peruvian government for student discounts at Machu Picchu. Just as a passport cannot be replaced by any other type of identification in international procedures, the student card cannot be substituted by an ISIC or any other document for discounts in Peru.
The policy of the Peruvian government is stringent regarding the accreditation of students. It is imperative to present a card that fulfills these criteria to be eligible for student-priced tickets because, upon entering Machu Picchu, you will be required to show the physical student card. If you do not meet these requirements upon arrival at Machu Picchu, there is a significant risk of being denied entry and having to pay the full ticket price, depending on availability. Therefore, ensuring that your student card adheres to Peruvian regulations is crucial before booking your tour to as student Machu Picchu.

Information About the Deposit and Tour Balance
Non-Refundable Deposit
The $180 USD deposit secures your spot on the tour and allows us to purchase your Machu Picchu entrance tickets and train tickets in advance. This is essential because Machu Picchu tickets are limited, and train tickets tend to sell out quickly, especially during the high season from April to October.
Remaining Balance Payment
If you choose to pay only the deposit, you can pay it online using any credit or debit card, with a 2.9% processing fee. In some countries, we also offer payment via bank transfer without additional fees.
The remaining balance must be paid upon your arrival in Cusco. You can complete this payment at our office located at Portal Nuevo 270, Plaza Regocijo, Cusco, just a short walk from the Plaza de Armas.
Payment Options in Cusco:
- Credit/Debit Card: A 3.9% processing fee applies.

- Agency-Initiated Cancellation: If the tour is canceled due to force majeure or adverse weather conditions, we will refund 100% of the total amount paid, including the $180 USD deposit.
Cancellation and Refund Policies

Cancellation and refund requests are handled exclusively via email and will be processed during our designated business hours. Please include all relevant details in your email to ensure a smooth and efficient process.
Initial Deposit
The initial deposit of $180 USD for this tour is 100% non-refundable and non-transferable under any circumstances. This includes cases of medical emergencies, as we do not accept medical notes or documentation as proof for refunds.
This policy exists because the deposit is used to secure your permits, entrance tickets, campsites, hotels, and train reservations, all of which are non-refundable to us once purchased.
Important: There are no exceptions to this policy, so we recommend booking only when you are certain about your travel plans.
Change of Dates
If you need to change the date of your tour, you must first check the availability in the tour calendar. Once availability is confirmed, a penalty of $70 USD per person will apply. This penalty covers the purchase of a new Machu Picchu ticket and the change of date for train tickets.
- Machu Picchu Ticket: This ticket is non-refundable, so a new ticket must be purchased for the new date.
- Train Ticket: This ticket is also non-refundable but can be rescheduled by paying a change fee.
These charges are not imposed by us but are necessary to process your new reservation, as your original tickets are non-refundable and non-transferable and will be forfeited.
Additional Tickets Like Waynayna Picchu
If you added extra tickets, such as for Wayna picchu, please note that these tickets are also non-refundable and non-transferable. The Ministry of Culture does not allow changes or refunds for Machu Picchu-related tickets. If you change the date or cancel your reservation, you will also lose these additional tickets.
Important:
All tickets for Machu Picchu and associated add-ons are non-refundable and non-transferable, meaning any change will require the purchase of new tickets. We strongly recommend confirming your travel plans before booking.
