As an agency, we will purchase the tickets on your behalf once you make your Machu Picchu tour reservation through our website, www.machupicchureservations.org. If you already have a ticket for Machu Picchu or prefer to purchase it on your own, please inform us to apply a $40 discount, which is the cost of a standard Machu Picchu ticket. This discount will be subtracted from the total price of the tour, as we will not need to purchase a ticket for you. For more details, click here.

All our packages to Machu Picchu include the entrance ticket to Machu Picchu, offering various options depending on availability. As a priority, we opt for Option 01: Llaqta de Machu Picchu (Circuito 1 o 2). If there is no availability for Option 01, we will move to Option 02: Circuito 1 o 2 + Puente Inca. In case these first two options are not available, the alternative will be Option 03: Circuito 4 + Montaña Huchuypicchu. If this option is also unavailable, we would opt for Option 04: Montaña Machupicchu + Circuito 3. Which has an additional cost of 20 dollars, as it includes access to Montaña Machupicchu. Finally, if none of the previous options are available, we would select Option 05: Circuito 4 + Montaña Waynapicchu, which also implies an additional cost of 20 dollars for including Waynapicchu Mountain.

We recommend booking in advance to ensure the best visit options to the Inca citadel of Machu Picchu.

OPTION 03: Circuito 4 + Montaña Huchuypicchu – Equivalent to Circuit 04

If the first two options for Circuit 02 are not available, we recommend opting for Circuit 04 + Montaña Huchuypicchu. This circuit offers an extensive exploration of the sites within the Inca citadel of Machu Picchu. It encompasses key locations like the Inca’s House and the Temple of the Sun, which, while not part of Circuit 02, are integral to the citadel’s experience. Although it lacks access to Machu Picchu’s classic viewpoint, this circuit presents unique and diverse perspectives from various angles. The entrance to this circuit is through the lower part of Machu Picchu, unlike Circuit 02, which begins from the higher section. In addition, this option includes the chance to ascend Montaña Huchuypicchu. This approximately 20-minute hike leads to a summit offering a panoramic view of Machu Picchu from an opposite angle to the classic viewpoint. Huchuypicchu, the smaller peak adjacent to Waynapicchu mountain, provides a unique perspective of the ancient site. Should Circuit 02 be unavailable, Circuit 04 serves as an excellent alternative for a comprehensive exploration of the Inca citadel of Machu Picchu

Tour Experience and Sites Visited with Circuito 04 + Montaña Huchuypicchu Inside Machu Picchu: The “Circuito 1 o 2 + Montaña Huchuypicchu” option focuses primarily on “Circuit 04”.

  1. Qolqas / Storehouses: Structures utilized for storing food and supplies.
  2. Agricultural Area: Terraced areas used by the Incas for agriculture.
  3. Water Channel: An ingenious system for water distribution.

  5. Sun Temple Complex: A crucial religious and astronomical site.
  6. Inka House Complex: Former residential area for the Inca elite.

OPTION 04: Montaña Machupicchu + Circuito 03 – Equivalent to Circuit 03: This circuit, though it may seem the shortest, provides access to the central areas of the Inca citadel of Machu Picchu, allowing visitors to explore its most prominent sites. It includes a stop at the famous viewpoint of Machu Picchu, perfect for capturing iconic photos of the site. Additionally, this pass offers the option to climb Montaña Machupicchu, a hiking activity that takes about 3 to 4 hours to complete, encompassing both the ascent and descent. It’s important to note that if you purchase this type of ticket, climbing Montaña Machupicchu is not mandatory. Visitors can choose to skip it and solely enjoy the classic viewpoint, which is the starting point for the hike to Montaña Machupicchu, accessible after the guided tour of Machu Picchu.

If this is the only option available, it remains an attractive choice, as it provides a comprehensive experience in Machu Picchu. However, it’s important to consider that this ticket has an additional cost of 20 dollars, as it includes access to Montaña Machupicchu, making it more expensive than standard tickets that only cover the visit to the citadel of Machu Picchu.

Furthermore, this ticket comes with time restrictions. There are only two available times: the first allows entry to Machu Picchu at 6 a.m. with access to Montaña Machupicchu from 7 to 8 a.m., while the second allows entry at 7 a.m. with Montaña Machupicchu access from 8 to 9 a.m. This means visitors have only two hours in Machu Picchu for the guided tour, as they must then proceed to the classic viewpoint and, if they wish, can opt to climb Montaña Machupicchu, depending on the tour they have chosen.

Tour Experience and Sites Visited with Montaña Machu Picchu + Circuito 3: The option of Montaña Machu Picchu + Circuito 3 primarily focuses on ‘Circuito 3’.

  1. Upper Platform – Classic Viewpoint (Plataforma Superior – Mirador Clásico): Offers a panoramic view of the Machu Picchu ruins.
  2. Guardian’s House (Casa del Guardián): A strategic point for an iconic view of the complex.
  3. Lower Platform (Plataforma Inferior): Provides a different perspective of the site.
  4. Dry Moat (Foso Seco): A unique architectural feature of the area.
  5. Sun Temple Viewpoint (Mirador del Templo del Sol): Overlooks the Temple of the Sun.

  11. Temple of the Condor: Open from 10 am to 1 pm, showcases intricate rock carvings.
  12. Pisonay Square (Plaza del Pisonay): A spacious area within the complex.
  13. Archaeological Reserve (Reserva Arqueológica): An area reserved for ongoing archaeological work.
  14. Climb to Montaña Machupicchu: Takes 3 to 4 hours for up and down.

OPTION 05: Circuito 4 + Montaña Waynapicchu – Equivalent to Circuit 04:

This option for visiting Machu Picchu allows you to enter the central part of the entire complex, including significant locations such as the Inca’s House, the Temple of the Sun, and the Royal Tomb, which are not included in Circuit 2. Additionally, this option provides access to Montaña Waynapicchu, known for its large pyramidal shape that stands out in the background of classic Machu Picchu photos. From its summit, you can enjoy panoramic views of the entire Machu Picchu area, with a hike that takes about 2 to 2.5 hours for the ascent and descent. However, this circuit does not include access to the classic viewpoint of Machu Picchu, as the entrance is through the lower part of the archaeological park.

Moreover, this option has restricted timings: the first slot allows entry to Machu Picchu at 6 a.m. with access to Waynapicchu from 7 to 8 a.m.; the second, entry at 7 a.m. with Waynapicchu access from 8 to 9 a.m.; the third, entry at 7 a.m. with Waynapicchu access from 9 to 10 a.m.; and the last, entry at 9 a.m. with Waynapicchu access from 10 to 11 a.m. These slots also have limited availability. This option comes with an additional cost of 20 dollars, as the ticket price is higher than the regular tickets that only allow access to visit Machu Picchu
